Instant Change

“The water heater needs to be replaced so we’ll replace it with the best water heater available.”

-      Ben Michel

Instant Change

I had been in the midst of hard negotiations on a transaction for several days and this particular morning found me beginning to tire from the rigid, unrealistic position of the other party and their agent.  It was a Monday morning and the first call of the day was another volley and another impasse.  I can remember thinking to myself, “Oh, I just want these difficult people to go away!”

As soon as this thought finished its flow across my mind I was roused by the sudden tinkling of my phone.  “Now what bad news am I going to hear?” was the phrase that blasted across my mind as an instant reaction.  I took a deep breath and answered the phone.

But there was a friendly voice reaching my ears.  When I heard the kindly tones, my body began to relax.  It was a welcome relief.  And, there was more relief coming my way as Ben continued.

“Hey Lynn, I received the inspection report and repair request you sent over yesterday.  I looked it over and then went to the house and the inspector is right.  The water heater needs to be replaced so we’ll replace it with the best water heater available.  I know that’s all you asked for, but I also went through the rest of the inspection report and decided to fix the other items as well.  They’re all small and it we’d like the home to be as nice as possible for your Clients when they move in.”

I could hardly speak, but uttered slowly, at first in surprise, and then gave a hearty, “I’ll let my Client know! Thank you for your generosity!”

My heart was calm and full of gratitude when the call ended.  I felt refreshed and encouraged again.  At the beginning of a very difficult day, one person, someone who has a fair, kind heart, someone who was willing to go above and beyond what was asked changed my whole day and outlook.  I was impressed by the quickness of the change that came inside of me.

I also made a commitment to myself to give more than what is required or asked, because I had been changed by Ben and his goodness in an instant.  You can make the same commitment.  Change the world in an instant through generosity and kindness.  It will change more than just your own life.

The Universal Law of Reversibility

“You can be anyone you want here!”

-      Rex C. Reeve

The Universal Law of Reversibility

I had been attending college for about a year and a half when I decided to take some time off.  It was important to me give back by volunteering in a different community.  It was also a chance for me to take a close look at the path I had been on in school to make sure it was the path I really wanted to be on.
Not long after my plane landed in the location assigned, my supervisor took the time to sit down with me and talk.  I told him what I was hoping to discover about myself while I was there.  I’ll never forget what he told me at that time, “You can be anyone you want to be here!”

It is the first time I can remember catching a glimpse of the “Universal Law of Reversibility.”  This law is highly important because it enables you to foresee your inverse transformation once the direct transformation is verified within.  If you knew how you would feel when you realized your objective, then, you would know what state you could realize were you to awaken in yourself such feeling; believe you already possess your goal and you will.
This truth was taught to me again today as I sat on a red, velvet covered couch speaking with one of my close friends.  He carefully described the transformation of his life over the past five years or so.

“Once I accepted the realization of my goal, my whole life changed over night!  I finally knew that the future I had envisioned was mine.  It was mine.  I accepted it!  Now my marriage and business are just amazing!”
All of us have had the feeling of “swimming upstream.”  My friend said that when he decided to stop this process, the illusion of constantly looking at the past as if it continued to live, his life reversed its path of difficulty and he was propelled forward as if swimming with the strength of the stream.

I sat entranced as he told me his story.  I could feel his pain and his triumph.  But, mostly I could see the truth of his description of the Universal Law of Reversibility.  His eyes poured the truth into my soul.  I knew again that I could reverse any negative path I would ever encounter.  If difficulties exist then the reverse must also exist.
For a long time electricity was produced by friction without the thought that friction, in turn, could be produced by electricity.  It is the new thought that caused the reverse to occur.  If you want to electrify your life, use your imagination to create a new thought that will cause the reverse you desire.  Everything in life is reversible!

The Glass Sentinel

“I’m looking for a job that will allow me to do what I want to do.”

-      Kyle Butterfield

The Glass Sentinel

I could smell the large trees that were surrounding me.  The fresh air seemed to be streaming right from their leaves into my nose.  It made me feel as if I was sitting in a forest in early spring and the feeling was exceptionally welcome since I had braved fog, snow and freezing cold air before I could enjoy it.  Just beyond the trees were sentinel glass barriers that kept all that gloomy winter stuff at bay.
This interior garden was enlivening to me and I needed it because the cloud darkened day was coming to a close and I still had two meetings left.  Luckily they were both in this spirit-refueling garden that was about to turn into something akin to a fortune teller.

There was a table for us to sit at during our conversation and there were two chairs that allowed us to look at each other as we talked.  The tête-à-tête was pleasant and revealing for both of us as we got to know each other better.  I learned about the other person’s business as well as his family.  I also learned about his life’s aspirations.  But, there was one curious thing.
“I am looking forward to retiring so I can do something of real value.” He said to me.

“Isn’t your working adding value to others now?” I asked.
“Yes.  But, it isn’t what I really want to do.”  He responded.

“But, if you really want to do it wouldn’t you be doing it?” I replied.
Sometimes we think that we can only do what we want to do if we are doing it as a medium of exchange for money.  Or, we think that since we spend time working for money that we’re unable to do what we really love to do.

My Nephew Kyle called me today.  He told me that he had recently graduated from college.  I know that he’s worked long and hard to get his degree!  He’s been searching for work so he can provide for his wife and their new baby.  He has an interview this coming week.
“It isn’t what I want to do.” He said.

“Why can’t you do what you want to do?” I replied.
“I haven’t found anyone who will pay me to be an illustrator!” He responded.

“Let me ask you a question,” I answered. “Do writers write?”
“Yes.”

“Do illustrators, illustrate?”
“Yes.”

“So, if you want to be an illustrator, illustrate!” I advocated.
It’s important that you become your own advocate, since we live in a world that’s cold & snowy and covered in fog.  You can look inside and illustrate our own interior garden; find what you love to do.  After all, that’s who you really are!  When you discover it, you’ll find that it’s enlivening.  It will act as your sentinel glass barrier that will keep you safe and warm even when the outer world is dark and threatening and you need to work for money do keep a roof over your head and food in your belly.

Take a walk in your garden today by discovering what it is that you really want to do and then go out and do it.  If you’re a writer, write.  If you’re a teacher, teach.  If you’re an artist, create art.  When you get in touch with your love, every other person will benefit.  There is no limit on what love can do!

Self Actualized Presence

“Bless my Dad in whatever he does.”

-      A friend’s son

Self Actualized Presence

One of my friends is an exceptional entrepreneur.  He’s still young, but he was very young when he sold his first company.  Since he was young and had a family, he had a young family and was in the perfect situation.  He had lots of money and lots of time to spend with his family!
He had plenty of time because after he sold his company he no longer needed to work for money to provide for his family.  Since he didn’t need to go out to interact with other people every day; he became casual in many aspects of his life.  He dressed in a sloppy manner and began to grow an un-kept beard.  My friend lived in this new pattern day after day until something happened to teach him an important lesson.  He is a religious man and was having a prayer with his family one morning when his son, praying carefully for God to bless each member of his family, said:

“Bless my sister so she can do well on her math test.  Bless my brother so he can win his basketball game.  Bless my Dad in whatever he does.”
Those spoken words, “whatever he does,” helped my friend see that in the eyes of his children he no longer did anything they could comprehend; in the view of his children, he was doing nothing.

“They didn’t understand what I did with my days.” He told me.  “They were going out each day to face their futures.  They went to school, they competed in sports, and they took lessons.  They were initiating action each day in the present while simultaneously facing their future and looking to the past.  The change in my life was so incongruous with our past together that they were worried about me.  They couldn’t understand what I was doing!  The truth is that I didn’t understand what I was doing either.”
My friend’s son had taught him “The Principle of Combining Belief and Action” without knowing it.  But, my friend knew it, that’s how he built a successful company.  So he changed from a person who was simply being acted upon back to a person who acted.  It’s what separates intelligent beings from all other forms in the universe.  In fact, we learn and grow most effectively by exercising our will with belief.  Both learning and growth require mental and physical exertion, not just passive reception or entertainment.

The learning and growth I’m describing reaches far beyond simple cognitive comprehension and mere gathering of facts or the recall of information.  The type of learning and growth I’m referring to allows a person to leave a common life behind.  It sets the ordinary aside by converting ones action, past and future into one self actualized presence.
My friend took this principle to heart again.  He set inaction aside and has developed a new company.  He has surrounded himself with others who are acting in common belief, that they can take their technology and combine it with needed change to create products and services that will change millions of other lives.

Perhaps most importantly he has changed his own life and is again living in a pattern that his kids, and all of us, can understand, follow and embrace.

How to Save Your Own Life

“Building this house saved my life!”

-      Richard Ure

How to Save Your Own Life

The room we were sitting in was new, fresh and beautiful.  There was a huge wooden desk in the corner, gleaming white wainscoting on the walls and plush carpet on the floor.  The newness of everything was also made obvious as a result of the custom pieces of art that were sitting on the floor and leaning against the white, high-gloss walls.  Within the wall in front of me, and to the right was a beautiful fireplace that matched the fire I could see in the eyes of my host, Richard.
It was good to see fire in Richard’s eyes again.  You see, he’s been struggling with his health for the past ten years or so.  Yet, he’s already out lived the predictions of his doctors.  That’s because they only look at the lab reports about the health of his heart.  They don’t look deeper into the heart of his soul.

“I love your new home!” I said.
“You know,” Richard replied, “building this house saved my life!”

How did taking on the task of designing and building a new house restore vigor and health to Richard’s life?  One would think that such a large and stressful project would be more than a person with an unhealthy heart could take on and be successful with.  But, looking more deeply into the building process reveals a universal secret for living vibrantly.
Before the plans were drawn and the building began to be constructed, Richard created everything within his mind.  He chose to create his new home in thought.  This essential, life giving action, is the first step to take when a person chooses to actively create their own future.  But it isn’t the last.  As you proceed, keep in mind that there are two other steps you need to take to bring your vision into the physical now.  It isn’t enough to hold your plan within your mind.

When Richard built his house, the next step he took, after mental creation, was to put his vision on paper, or computer.  The point is that this next step must be copying the vision from your mind and putting it onto something that’s physical.  This is essential because it allows your mind to see that your vision is going to be real in the physical world.  It is literally a blueprint, containing all of the exact, small and large details that will allow you to follow a clear path to the fulfillment of your dream.  I call this the “it will be” phase.
The fulfillment of your dream is the final physical creation.  It’s when you look at the plans and follow them to completion.  This is the “it is phase.”  It is where the complete mental creation becomes fully physical in the now.  It’s when all the colors, materials, attributes or whatever you’ve imagined become one with you.  It is a blending of the past, present and future.   It is the truth of your creation process.

In truth, this essential creation process has the ability to create and change your life.  If you will follow its steps in perfect detail and never vary, it will absolutely work for you.  I’ve seen it happen over and over again.  It’s how you can save your own life, if you’re struggling, and it will make a good life turn into an amazing life if you apply it.  This is how you can live the life you’ve dreamed about; look deep into the heart of your own soul and live!

Exponential Living

Learning from a Teacher and Students at the same time.

Exponential Living

An instructor was standing in front of me and I was surrounded by other students as well.  I’m required to complete a large number of “continuing education” hours in order to have my professional license renewed every two years.  There is always a lot to learn and in this class’ particular case I was able to hit a double.
I use that baseball term because it is so instructive as to the receipt of benefits.  I like to say, “When you go up to bat, why hit a single when you can hit a double?  Whenever you can put forth the same or similar effort and get twice the benefit it’s a great opportunity!  And, when it’s a surprise extra benefit; all the better.  I realized this was one of those times during a break.

I was sitting next to my friends Linda and Todd when Todd asked Linda how things were going for her husband.
“We don’t really worry about anything except for now.” She replied.  “We can’t go back and change the past.  His cancer is here.  We don’t know what the future holds because we don’t know how the disease will progress, so we simply worry about each day as it comes and live it to its fullest!”

Her words alighted on my mind as quickly as they left my ears.  She was describing one of the important lessons life has taught her as a result of her husband’s illness.  I was hearing her deliver the same message to me in a different way.
Life requires all of us to have continuing education.  But, life doesn’t require us to learn our lessons in the same way.  Recognizing important lessons, as taught to us by others, is a precious opportunity.  A person who can observe and then apply what she learns from the lives of others is able to live an exponential existence.

All of us can become the sum total of hundreds or thousands of other lives.  To do so only requires us to read, observe or listen to the wisdom learned by other persons and to then incorporate it into our being now.   While we can’t live in the past, we can learn and benefit from it right now.  And, while we can’t live in the future yet, wisdom applied now will open to a future full of promise.
We all live with the promise of a good single life.  But, why live a single when you can harvest the wisdom of a double, triple or thousands?  Life requires continual learning, but it allows and delivers the wonder of exponential lives learned.

Giver and Receiver

“I just want to tell him what I think of the way he’s treated me!”

Annie Butterfield

Giver and Receiver

There have been so many times in my life where I’ve benefited from the mercy of others.  I can remember one time in particular; I was in college and working full time.  The company I was working for discontinued operation and I found myself without the ability to pay rent and tuition or to buy food.  It was a distressful time for me to say the least.
When I explained the situation to my landlord they were so kind and generous!  They allowed me to stay for a month, accepted the deposit I had given as payment, and then spread the word that I needed assistance in finding a new job.  As a result, they were not the only ones who came to my aid.

Another friend of mine, Monica Carlsen, a woman with the most clear blue eyes I have ever seen, brought groceries to my door and gave them to me with a smile and sparkle in her eyes.   Without her kindness I would not have had any food for the coming month.  That same month brought me many more examples of how the tender mercies of others make all the difference to people like me who need to receive compassion.
Compassion is born from the heart of those who give it.  It is sympathy for the suffering of others and almost always includes a desire to reach out and help.  But it is the giving of mercy that teaches, through example, how to give to others when the dark night of a broken heart would have one do otherwise.

My daughter recently had her heart crushed by her best friend and I watched her reel from the disorienting experience.  She wanted to lash out and teach this offending person an angry lesson.  I understand her pain because I have felt it myself.  But, even while understanding it, the benefits of mercy continued to ring the bells of compassion loudly in my ears.
“There will come a time when you will need to receive mercy from others.” I explained to her.  “How can you expect to receive mercy when you need it if you are not willing to give it freely under all circumstances?”

She did give it!  And, even though it was mostly because of my coaxing, I could still see the relief it has already distilled upon her heart.  Doing the right thing, because you believe it is the right thing, pays huge dividends even when one does not completely understand it.
As I look through my aging eyes at the world around me I don’t understand why there is so much pain and suffering everywhere I look.  But, I do understand that showing compassion and offering mercy to others will act as the miracle medicine we all need to receive; because in all cases, every one of us must be mercy’s giver and receiver.

Living Without Regret

“Now I do my business in a way that will allow me to live my life without regrets.”

-      A Friend

Living Without Regret

I could hear the clicking of a keyboard as I approached the computer bay.  I was walking through an office work area toward another room where I was going to attend a meeting.  As I got closer, I was surprised to recognize the person tapping the keys.
“Hi Lynn,” my friend said when he looked up and saw me.

I could tell this was going to be a short detour now that I had seen this friend, but it didn’t matter because I was excited to speak with him.  We hadn’t talked for a few months and this chance encounter was a welcome respite from a harried day.  My friend’s smile was also a welcome site since I knew he hadn’t always felt like smiling over the past few years.
As we began our conversation his smile increased and it had the effect of a soothing rain as it washed the heat of the day from existence.

“Have you been spending enough time with your family the past few weeks?” He asked.
It was a common question from this particular friend.  He is always great about helping me to stay focused on what really matters.

“Always remember why you work!” He continued.  “We don’t work for money or for the work itself.  We work so we can spend time with our families and give them what they need.  Remember to work so you don’t have any regrets in your life!”
I listen intently to him because he is a man who knows what he’s talking about.  You see, his smile is just returning after he learned a bitter lesson.  His story is an important one for all of us.

A few years ago he was “living his work.”  Then one morning he got up as usual and left his home without even seeing another member of his family.  He and his wife had an arrangement where she would take their infant to day care in the morning and he would pick their child up at the end of the day.  This day began as every one of their other days, but it didn’t end as the other ones had ended.
Toward late afternoon he received a phone call that shook his world.  He raced to the day care center as soon as he hung up the telephone and when he arrived, it was as if a tsunami had wiped his life away.   His baby had died!

As I looked at my friend’s bright face on this day, a flood of memory rushed through my body and his words from the past echoed in my ears. “I have always regretted not giving my baby a kiss before I left for work that morning!  Now I make sure I always put my family first.  I work without regret, because I know I the reason I work is so I can spend as much time with my family as possible!”
He has discovered the deeper meaning of his work and it has made all the difference in his life.  He truly lives each day without regret and we can too! Take some time to discover the deeper meaning of your work.  Only then will you be able to really live your life.  Living your life with true meaning will give significance to every aspect of your existence.  Live today.

How's Your Vision?

“A College Admittance Application”

How’s Your Vision?

Most of what it takes to complete a college application on-line is time.  The time I’ve spent doing it has been time well spent; since it’s been with my daughter.  The other day she pulled out her computer and we sat down to answer a few questions together.
The questions we were answering were easy and we breezed along until we hit one question in particular. “What will you have accomplished within the next five years?”

“Why do they always ask such stupid questions?” my daughter asked.
My thoughts went back to interviews I’ve seen with small children.  Most of them don’t hesitate with an answer to a similar question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” Their answers flow freely and confidently; a cowboy, a teacher, astronaut, doctor, firefighter, lawyer.

“I don’t have any idea!”
“Yes you do.” I replied.  “You’ve told me over and over again.  Would you like me to tell you what you told me?”

“Yes.”
I spent a few minutes listing the things she had told me in the past.  They were exciting and challenging things.  They were the things she has been spending the last few years working toward.

“I haven’t thought about those things for a long time!”  She said.
We spent the next few minutes writing, thinking about and crafting the vision of her future to complete her application.  It was a good exercise for us to go through.  We talked about the fact that this vision was the basis for her success in college and for her life as well.  It caused me to think about my own life and experience.

We were sitting in our house.  It is the house this girl has lived in virtually her whole life.  We have a photo of her standing in this same house, the winter it was under construction, in her snow suit with bare feet.  She has a huge grin on her face and when I look at the photo today I can still feel her exuberance.
“Had I not created a plan for this house, thought about it, worked to build it, would we be sitting in it right now?  The chances would be too small to even comprehend.  So is the future of my life any different?”

I’ve noticed that as I get older, my eyes don’t quite work as well as they used to.  Now I wish that was the only part of my vision that has been deteriorating!  Good thing I just finished a vision correction session with my daughter!
I’m going to spend some time making application for my future over the next couple of weeks.  It will take some time to create a plan, think it through and work to build it.  I’m sure it will turn out to be as comfortable and customized as the house I live in is.

The truth is that we all live in our custom lives.  Is your life the way you want it to be, or do you need to begin a new set of plans?

Has Your Chance Passed?

As I was driving with my family one day I saw an ice cream store ahead. I asked if they would like to stop and get some ice cream. They played around for a while and finally said, “Yes.” I said too late, I’ve already passed it!”
- Bertha Clark

Has Your Chance Passed?

Have you ever thought your chance has passed you by? There have been times when I thought this was my plight and when I was talking with some friends last week I knew I wasn’t the only one who has had this experience.

We were talking about some of the challenges that life has thrown our way and I said, “You know, I always think I’m prepared for what may come but I have to tell you, when something does happen I’m never as prepared I thought I was and then I find myself hoping that the challenge is just another “warning shot” so I’ll have time correct the problem.” I guess the truth is that no matter what happens there are always small warnings that come my way, I just have to watch for them and then begin to make adjustments. But, I can tell you that most of the time I spend a lot of time ignoring signs when they appear.

When I said that, my friend Dwight Clark laughed and said, “When some of my grand children were in town visiting once, my wife was out running errands with them in the car when she saw an ice cream store ahead. She asked if they would like to stop and get some ice cream. As kids do, they were playing around in the car so it took them a few moments to respond. When they wanted to stop, she said, too late, I’ve already passed it.”

I’m sure the kids were disappointed at the result of their delay. I feel their pain because I’ve faced the same kind of disappointment many times. But, the advantage I have now is that when this kind of disappointment comes my way I know, through experience, that there will be another ice cream store just up the road! I’d like to give you an example of one friend who really understood this principle when her life changed dramatically.

Marlene Noda had been working in the same position for many years when she found out her employer was making a change that meant she was going to lose her job. As you can imagine that caused her to have pause as to what was going to happen in her life.

One of the things I love about Marlene is that she is able to use all of her assets to her advantage. And, she used this job loss in the same way. Marlene used this forced change in her life to think about what she really loved to do and then go for it. She became a Sushi Chef and began to use her new skills in two different restaurants. Today she is the proprietor of her own restaurant and is recognized as one of the best Sushi Chefs in the Salt Lake City Area. Had she not lost her old job, chances are small that she would have made this amazing change in her life.
There are few things I can guarantee about your life, but I can guarantee one. Change will constantly come. When it does you will be have great opportunity if you’ll but look for it. So here are a couple of small suggestions:

First, look at big changes as big opportunities. If you’re like me at all, you tend to get fairly comfortable with life as is currently is. That isn’t a big motivator for change. I also tend to get pretty upset when things don’t fit my “picture” of how things should be. But, now I’ve found that by viewing disruption as an opportunity, my ability to work through it successfully is greatly enhanced.

Second, have faith in your ability to adapt. Earlier I said that I was never as prepared as I thought I was. Well, that’s only partly true. I’ve developed some skill at being adaptable and it has served me well. My friend Brad Bertoch calls this skill the ability to be a “survivor.” I saw an entire book written about this ability the other day and look forward to reading it. You can’t be prepared for everything, but you can have faith that you will be able to successfully navigate through anything that will come.

Third, now that you have faith in your ability to deal with things as they come up, add a little bit more to that faith. Know that others, and a higher source, will always be there to help you though things. Being a good person means that people love you and they will do more for you than you ever hoped if you just ask for help and give them a chance.

Finally, live the “Every Twenty Minutes Principle.” Know that another train comes to your stop every twenty minutes on average! If you miss one train, another one will come along in just a few minutes! Expect this to be the case for you and your opportunities. You will always have chances! In fact if you look back through your life you’ll find that you’ve had more than one, two or three chances. You’ve had many chances.

And, you’ll have lots more chances in your life, now and in the future. You may lose the chance to have a particular ice cream cone from one particular store, but you’ll have the chance to have another ice cream cone from another store, which will be just as good, if not better, if you just keep driving. Your chance hasn’t passed; it’s just a little further up the road!

The Bicycle Helmet Principle

“Will you please tell our boys to wear their bicycle helmets?”
- Unknown

The Bicycle Helmet Principle

Years ago while working in my friend’s bicycle store I discovered one of the most powerful principles of my life. I call it the “Bicycle Helmet Principle.” After learning about it, I hope it will become as valuable to you as it is to me!

One day a family walked into the store with their sons and made a bee-line toward me. They walked right up to me and one of the parents said, "Our sons will not wear their helmets while riding their bikes! Will you please tell them to wear their helmets? Maybe they'll listen to you!"

They were very direct and wanted to make a clear point to their sons. I wanted to take a moment to gather myself before I answered them so I walked toward the helmet display thinking about my response the entire way. Never had such a short walk seemed to be so difficult!

When we arrived at the display, I stopped and turned to the anxious parents. "Let me ask you a question.” I said, “When you ride your bikes, do you wear your helmets?"

They stopped, looked incredulously at me and said, "No."

I said, "Then nothing I can say will make a difference."

I’m not sure what they really thought. The conversation stopped short and they turned and left the store. They most likely thought I was rude, but that was not my intention. You may think I really didn’t help the parents; but my objective was to help them far beyond the question they asked. I wanted to help the entire family by shifting their focus just enough to see things from a different perspective. I wanted to show them that none of us can make others do what we are not willing to do ourselves!

That means the answers to my problems are not going to come to me from some expert without my active participation. All of the answers I am seeking will come from within me!

Now that doesn’t mean that I can’t learn from others. I can. I do every day. But, if all I do is let the words run past my ears and not into my heart then nothing anyone will say can make a difference to me.

As my friend, you can tell what I really believe by what I do. My own actions make my life what it is, after others have shared their value with me.

I’ve discovered that shared value in the form of coaching can help everyone. I’ve found that if someone is willing to give me a different perspective and show me a new way, that very small change in how and what I do will pay huge dividends! Sometimes I just need to have a friend see things I’m missing because I’m stuck inside myself and can’t see! It's like holding a page of a book right up to your nose and hoping to be able to read it. It just doesn't work!

By applying the Bicycle Helmet Principle in your life you'll find that simplicity and the seemingly insignificant will change your life forever! I'll show you how! It's not expensive! It's not hard! It's as easy as riding a bike!

You can do that can't you?

Yes?

Then you can do this!

Let's start with training wheels right now!

First, think of one personal relationship that you would like to be better. Just stop right now and visualize that person. Can you see their face? Can you feel their presence? Can you identify that warm feeling you get inside when you're with them and everything is great?

Now, visualize yourself going up to that person and give them a heart-felt compliment. See the reaction in their face. Feel their arms around you as they express their thanks. Feel your heart beating with excitement!

You can have this feeling everyday if you'll just make a commitment to yourself to give this important person one simple and easy compliment every day!

Can it be that easy? Yes!
